Modern Solids Challenge with Free Spirit

Hello, friends -- happy Friday!

If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably noticed that I've been working on something extra special! A few weeks ago I was contacted by the folks at Free Spirit Fabrics to take part in the Modern Solids Challenge along with several other fabulous bloggers. We each received a BEAUTIFUL Denyse Schnidt's Modern Solids fat quarter pack & our challenge is to create a Modern Quilt using Traditional Inspiration. Hello, beautiful!

And let the games BEGIN! // #modernsolidschallenge

It didn't take too long to come up with a color scheme -- a gradient of blues, with just a pop of citrus green. I tend to gravitate towards traditional, geometric designs, so I've chosen to put a modern twist on the traditional Irish Chain design.
Working on my #modernsolidschallenge today! ✂️✂️✂️

So, who are the other designers? It's quite the list!

John Adams of Quilt Dad
Faith Jones of Fresh Lemons Quilts
Heather Jones of Olive & Ollie
Lee Heinrich of Freshly Pieced
Holly DeGroot of Bijou Lovely
Latifah Saafir of The Quilt Engineer

You can follow along with all of our progress over on Instagram using #ModernSolidsChallenge, too!
