A Rainbow Picnic Quilt | #Finishit2019 Number Four

Some quilts take longer to finish than others. Life happens and in our case, we move. We move a lot. Brandon's job transfers us around Iowa & Minnesota every year or two - it's mostly fun but results in so many unfinished projects. In boxes. So many boxes.

Maybe it's just me, but I find these unfinished projects weigh me down. I feel guilty not finishing them - some projects I still love and some I just don't love anymore. Maybe it was Marie Kondo on Netflix or the motivation of a New Year, but kicking 2019 off with a #FINISHIT2019 list of ALL (okay, mostly all) my projects has been a GAME CHANGER. Mapping out how close each project is to being done and creating a pretty visual has been such the motivator. I just love putting an "X" in those pretty rainbow boxes.

Introducing With Flying Colors

Good morning, friends!

Let me introduce you to my latest design, With Flying Colors. This lap size quilt pattern can be found in the Spring 2016 Quilt's & More magazine that is on newsstands now. My love of rainbows, bold geometric design, and solid fabrics is very apparent in this new design. I used twelve Kona solids to create this chevron rainbow effect & they are:

Hello, friends!

Late last fall I started a new hashtag on Instagram called #sewtherainbow, for three reasons: 1) I love Instagram 2) I love sewing 3) I love rainbows. Win, win, win! In just one year the hashtag includes 1,500+ photos from fabulous sewists + quilters just like you. It's one of the happiest hashtags to scroll through, I love seeing all the rainbow goodies!
