{Sew} Modern Monday #10

It's time for another {Sew} Modern Monday
{Sew} Modern Monday at Canoe Ridge Creations

I spent all day Saturday behind the sewing machine.  Like I mentioned earlier, my mom and I enjoyed a whole day together of uninterrupted sewing.  Wahoo! It really doesn't get any better than that!  Rather than share what I worked on today, I have decided to share a few of my mom's finishes from the Sew-tastic Saturday.

So this week, I bring to you {Sew} Modern Monday -- mom edition...

My mom is really my biggest fan for anything blog related, especially on {Sew} Modern Mondays.  It is not uncommon for me to get multiple calls/texts/e-mails about all the great stuff you all have linked up to each and every {Sew} Modern Monday.  I find it funny how she calls you all by name.  Instead of describing the project, she will say "So-and-So" from "This or That" blog.  And, I usually know exactly who she is talking about.  That's one of the best parts about the blogging community, you make connections with fellow bloggers and it can feel like they are just an old friend from down the road.  You know what I mean?

Ok, ok.  Getting back on track.  Last week, she fell in love with this iPod case that was linked up.  Using that photo as her inspiration she ended up with this fabulous cell phone case.

My mom used a few charm squares of the Frolic by Sandy Gervais for Moda fabric line.  Added a little ric-rac, a fabric covered button, a fabric yo-yo and voila.

Oh, and that brown loop around the button holding the cell phone in place?  An elastic hairband.  So simple.

She also made a matching individual Kleenex case using my tutorial using the same fabric. Thanks mom! :)

It really was a great way to spend a Saturday.  On deck next weekend, a three generation Sew-tastic Saturday with my mom, grandma, and little sister.  Can't wait!

...and I think that wraps up {Sew} Modern Monday -- mom edition.

Come back tomorrow and I will share what I worked on.

Now it's your turn...

1.) Link up a recent sewing or quilting project finish using modern fabrics and/or designs.  Please link to the specific post, not just your blog home page.
2.) Link back to my blog in your post.  If you want, grab the {Sew} Modern Monday button over on the sidebar and add it to your blog.  That way you won't have to remember each week.
3.) Please check out other people's {Sew} Modern Monday links.  What fun is a linky party without comments?  Please take the time to comment on other people's posts.
4.) If you like, join the flickr group and share your pictures there as well.

  1. That is so wonderful that you and your mom have this connection about sewing/blogging! My mom does sew, but she hasn't for years. I would like it if she would start again and get hip to all the cool fabrics, lol!
