gettin' my dessert on.

Adding glass seed beads to my truffle. Eeeepppp!!!

have you heard of the zero calorie dessert sensation that is circling the inter-webs? guilt free, strictly fun. i'm talking about the dessert of the month club from the frosted pumpkin stitchery! once a month for an entire year, amanda and ashleigh will be releasing an adorable little dessert x-stitch pattern. i just couldn't resist temptation, can you blame me?

i'm stitchin' my desserts on 28 count linen, which i love! this month i added a few seed beads to the top of my truffle (it's hard to see in these photos!) to give it a bit of extra sparkle. :) and of course i had to buy a new pair of little scissors for my x stitch adventures. i picked up these little gems while shopping last week with my midwest pals, vanessa, deedee, and jeni!

if you are new to x-stitchin', been at it for years, or you are looking to get started, i highly recommend joining the dessert of the month club! it's beginner friendly, plus you will be x-stitchin' along with lots of other fabulous people

do you x-stitch? are you getting your dessert on each month with the frosted pumpkin stitchery?

xo, megan.

  1. What a cute little truffle! Funny you should ask about cross stitch, I haven't done it for years, but picked it up again this week after seeing a wee little stitches pattern that I just had to make! That 28 count linen looks incredibly fine, I'm happily stitching along with my 14 count Aida.

  2. Super cute! I'm loving your seed beads and linen. Where did you get the linen? I'm a little scared to veer away from aida cloth, but the linen is so pretty.

  3. Now I really wish I had signed up! It was on sale too. Oh well, there is always next year. I still have 8 months of BOM blocks to do.

  5. That is so cute! I have done some cross stitching in my day, and even more needlepoint. Wooo! That stuff is fun and so much more portable than quilting. Now that I'm learning some English paper piecing, I'm liking the portability potential there. Same with appliqué, but that's still one my Someday list ;-)

  6. I joined in, but I haven't stitched my January treat yet! I can't wait to see what else they have in store for the year. Yours is adorable; I love the beads!

  7. I embroider, but I'm not a cross-stitcher, although I do find these cute. I think I just have problems reconciling myself with the fact that I can see the background fabric in cross stitch whereas in embroidery in can be hidden for solid things, and it bothers my anal retentive side ;o)

  10. Can you post a picture pattern for this? Your blog gives me an idea on how can I make a unique gluten free desserts gift for my bestfriend. Thanks for sharing.
