Go Green Shopping Bags

As I mentioned in yesterday's blog post, reusable shopping bags have been on my "to-do" list for a while now, I just hadn't found a pattern I really liked.  So, I decided to challenge myself and see what I could design on my own.  Once I got started, I didn't want to leave my sewing machine.  They are so much fun to make.

Here's a close up of the handles.  I am a huge fan of top-stitching.

And the best part, they can roll up and be easily stored in your purse or car.

I have a feeling I will be making a few of these for Christmas this year.

Happy Sewing!

I am linking this to Fabric Tuesday.

UPDATED (11/27)  You can now find this pattern as a tutorial on my blog.

  4. These are just beautiful! I too love the top-stitching. It just seems to make things look so much nicer for some reason. I'm so impressed that you designed your own pattern! That's wonderful!

  6. Those are fabulous! What a great way to use some of the fun new prints that are out that are hard to cut up! Now you need to write up a tutorial so we can all make some! The adding top-stitching finished them off so nicely.
